Next stop: Normandy!

Unless you plan on swimming the English Channel, and walking from the shoreline all the way to Berlin, these vehicles will come in handy. Sure they might not offer much protection, but it's always better than nothing when you're up against the Wehrmacht.

M3A3 Stuart & MG42

Adding to the motor pool is the M3A3 Stuart tank, used mainly as a reconnaissance tank in the later stages of the war.

The MG42 in the last three screenshots is completely new, made from scratch to ArmA standards. Shown in the same pictures is a new helmet camo version.

I44 Fanzone @ new BIS forums

The new BIS forums have been launched. They offer the option of a more secluded discussion in the Social Groups that can be created by users. As some of you may already know, we've decided not to make an actual thread on the BIS forums before the first release. To provide our real fans with an opportunity to discuss the mod in the most active community forums, we've decided to create an Invasion 1944 Fanzone group. If you are registered on the BIS forums, be sure to check it out!

The Group can be found [here].

LCVP 'Higgens' Landing Craft

Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel (LCVP) or Higgins boat was a landing craft used extensively in World War II. The craft was designed by Andrew Higgins of Louisiana, United States based on boats made for operating in swamps and marshes. More than 20,000 were built, by Higgins Industries and licensees.

Typically constructed from plywood, this shallow-draft, barge-like boat could ferry a platoon-sized complement of 36 men to shore at 9 knots (17 km/h). Men generally entered the boat by climbing down a cargo net hung from the side of their troop transport; they exited by charging down the boat's bow ramp.

Kübelwagen (VW Typ 82)

][FF] Studio kindly donated their Kubelwagen to us. As they only came in an open variant with 2 paint jobs (Grey and Dessert), Marcel has been putting some work into it and made a Camo variant for our Normandy map! Also added to it was some slight detail, as well as working on a hooded version, and some 'under the hood' work on LODs. Hope you guys like the result.

Sd.Kfz. 2 Kleines Kettenkraftrad

The Sd.Kfz. 2, better known as the Kleines Kettenkraftrad started its life as a light tractor for airborne troops to tow recoilless guns and light anti-tank guns, and to transport ammunition.
It had its advantage as being a tracked vehicle climbing up to 45° in sand and even more in hard ground. Most Kettenkrads saw service on the Eastern Front, but also used in Europe.

M4A3 VVSS 76mm DD exhaust

The Sherman tank, made by Marcel, was the most prominent US tank of WW2, used throughout Operation Overlord, and the advance through Normandy.

Over 50.000 Sherman tanks were produced in all it's variants. The variants which we will be making are the M4A3 and M4A4 with 75mm, 76mm, and 105mm guns, which will include the Duplex Drive. Not as powerful as many of it's German counterparts, it relied on speed and strength of numbers to take on the Panzers.
